No. All ultrasound sessions at Miracle Beginnings are elective and non-diagnostic. No referral is required to have an ultrasound with us.
We do not provide medical advice, reports, measurements, or assessments, and our scans do not replace your routine medical ultrasounds requested by your healthcare providers.
Yes. You must remain up to date with all recommended medical ultrasounds through your GP, Midwife, or Obstetrician.
Our sessions are for bonding, entertainment and keepsake purposes only.
You do not need a referral for your scan. We offer ultrasounds from 10 weeks onwards, depending on the package you choose:
- Peace of mind scans starting from 10 weeks
- Gender scans from 14 weeks
- Baby Bonding sessions are best booked between the ideal window of 28 and 33 weeks
Yes. Gender determination is available from 14 weeks.
You may choose an in-studio reveal or a sealed envelope if you prefer a surprise later.
This depends on the package you choose when booking. The clarity and quality of your images are dependent on gestation, amniotic fluid levels, placenta location and your baby’s position on the day.
While we aim to capture beautiful images, specific views — including facial images — cannot be guaranteed.
Reminder: Every baby is different — the experience is about the moment with baby, not perfection.
Image quality can vary and is influenced by:
- Baby’s position
- Placenta location
- Amniotic fluid levels
- Maternal body composition
We always do our best to obtain the clearest images possible during your session.
Please make sure you follow the water preparation as recommended on our website as this directly affects the quality of your images on the day.
Yes. You’re welcome to bring loved ones to share the experience with you.
Mum plus 5 guests can attend your scan. Children are most welcome to attend the scan. However we do kindly ask, that if your children are attending your ultrasound session that they can sit quietly and calmly, so your ultrasound can run smoothly and remain enjoyable for everyone. We do have some toys in studio to keep them occupied.
Ultrasound technology has been used for many years. Ultrasound uses low frequency sound waves to look at your baby. If you have any concerns about sound wave exposure, we recommend discussing this with your healthcare provider.
Some babies are more camera-shy than others. If your baby is hiding or facing inwards, certain images may be limited. We do our best to move you around to encourage baby to move into a better position. If a complimentary return scan is offered it will be clearly stated within the individual package description you have booked.
We recommend wearing a 2 piece outfit. Dresses are not recommended. Please bring a cold drink (such as water or fruit juice) to your scan as we may need you to drink this to wake baby up if its sleepy.
No. Miracle Beginnings has a stand-alone studio located on a home property in Redland Bay, completely separate from the house. The space is private, professional, and designed to feel calm and welcoming.
A non-refundable booking deposit is required to secure your appointment and is deducted from your package total on the day of your scan. Full details are provided at the time of booking. We require 48 hours notice for rescheduling of your appointment. If you cancel your appointment, you deposit is non refundable.
All our bookings are made online through our website. We do not take bookings over the phone. A non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Appointments can be booked up to two months in advance, subject to availability.
